EDI Roundtable – The Future of EDI and how to support the profession

29/01/26

In-person

Anecdotal feedback from City HR members suggests that EDI in Financial Services is at a critical inflection point, impacted by political shifts, regulatory scrutiny, leadership scepticism and questions about measurable impact. We want to gain a greater understanding on what the reality is now, and what our EDI community need to thrive.

This 90-minute hybrid roundtable is not about restating commitments or sharing case studies. It is a frank, peer conversation with and for our EDI Special Interest Group members who are grappling with what is changing, what still matters, and where the profession needs to hold its ground and why.

The goal of the session is to shape direction that helps City HR members clarifying what “good” now looks like, where risks and trade-offs sit, and how HR can lead with credibility and confidence in the years ahead.

Participants will be invited to explore together:

  • What are you holding steady on?
  • What is receding and what could that mean to organisations and their people?
  • Looking ahead, what does the next 2 years look like for EDI?
  • What might help – collectively, rather than in isolation – what could City HR help with and how?

This hybrid roundtable, under Chatham House rules, will aim to provide space for honest insight, support and challenge.
