John Gaskell is a senior professional services leader with three decades at the intersection of regulation, professional standards and commerce. He offers boards an experienced, principled and independent voice, with a consistent record of strengthening oversight and acting in the public interest.
For eighteen years he led the personal financial planning function at the ICAEW, building its Personal Financial Advice Community to more than 40,000 members and acting as the Institute’s sector point of engagement with the FCA, HM Treasury, Parliament and the Global Accounting Alliance. His earlier career spanned wealth management at Deloitte — where he identified and remediated material regulatory breaches — a mid-tier legal practice board, product development at Aviva, and stockbroking, alongside work shaping professional qualification standards through the FSA’s Retail Distribution Review.
John is now a Non-Executive Director of City HR Association, founder of TriSynergy Consulting Services, and an advisory board member of RegTech firm RQ Ratings. A published author and broadcaster, he holds an MBA with Distinction and is a Chartered Wealth Manager and Certified Financial Planner.
