Special Interest Groups and Networks

Industry and sector expertise

Our Neworks & Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are led by our member and industry experts and offer a chance to connect with and learn from peers, gain deeper insights on topics, share experience and best practice in a more informal, in-person setting, raise your own profile and develop your career and much more!

Meeting in-person at least twice a year, the roundtable discussions cover topics top of mind for those within a particular sector, HR specialism or career stage. Often joined by thought leaders and specialists, both the Roundtable and virtual events offer the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and issues faced by peer organisations and share best practice.

These networks are the heart of the CityHR community, and we encourage your whole team to join at least one of the Networks or Special Interest Groups.

“The people you meet through this network is what makes it extra special. I truly appreciate how many opportunities we have to connect”

Yulia Dmitrieva, Head, People and Culture, International, Standard Bank Group

Networks

Network groups come together 3 times a year for roundtable discussion and cover topics top of mind for those within a particular sector. Find out more about each network group:

Special Interest Groups

Special Interest Groups (SIG) are led by industry and sector experts in a particular field via member co-chairs. The Groups meet 3 times a year, and enable discussion and the drawing together of insights and best practise.

If you are a City HR member, contact us to register for any of the above.

The list above signals our current Networks and Special Interest Groups, but these are constantly being reviewed. If you are interested in setting up a new group please contact us.

The rewards of networks

“Joining the AI & Special Interest Group has given me valuable insight on where others are on their AI journey, the tools they are using and barriers we share. I’ve been able to learn from experts in the field and gain ideas on practical uses to leverage technology. It’s provided some much needed structure on an increasingly complicated topic.”
─ Alison Minns, Shadow Board (2023-25)
